LIFE’S WHISPERS

Life whispers 3

I found the above quote on a small jar in a store a few years ago. The jar now sits on my mantel. The words resonated with me, but despite looking at it from across my living room sofa, I still often ignore its message. I get caught up in daily living and forget to find time to reflect on my life. I bought that jar to remind myself that no matter how busy or chaotic life gets sometimes, I have to listen to the messages the universe is sending my way. I have to pay attention to my life’s journey.

I can only interpret this quote from my belief system. I feel God sends us messages throughout our lives and it’s up to us to receive them. Or, at least to have our mind in a state where we are open to receiving these insights. Either from within ourselves, or at times from others. Sometimes people are put into our lives to deliver these messages. I think we can get so caught up in everything that is happening around us, that we may miss important signals that will enable us to lead more fulfilled lives and possibly to avoid mishap. Whatever your belief system is; it is important to always be aware of where your life seems to be taking you. At times, messages can come in the form of warnings, if we seem to be heading down a precarious path.

It is necessary to have an open heart and an open mind because insight can come from literally any source. It may be a family member or a loved one giving you some timely advice, a friend or co-worker offering words of wisdom, or sometimes an acquaintance being there to offer foresight in your time of need. Or possibly, from someone you barely know. Have you ever had someone say something to you from out of the blue and you go….hmm? Because you think….wow! that makes perfect sense and you wondered how you never thought of it. It is the missing piece you were seeking. That’s why we have to be open to receiving the wisdom of the universe. I think more than anything, you need to be always present in your own life. (yes, as silly as that sounds) Sometimes, that just means, sitting quietly and shutting out all the ‘noise’ around you. Wisdom can come in those moments of peaceful solitude.

As I mentioned earlier, I bought that jar with the profound quote, so it can be a daily reminder to myself….to pay attention to my life’s journey. Nevertheless, I still at times have ignored that sound advice, only to find myself reflecting on where I went wrong when something had gone awry in my life. On such occasions, I have wondered…how did the messages escape me? So, once again….I vow to shut out the noise and pay full attention to ‘life’s whispers.’
