One day you’re a child

Young and innocent

Just want to play

Cannot wait for the start

Of each new day

 

Next you’re restless

Want to hurry up time

So you can go forth

And experience all the wonders

This big beautiful world has to bestow

 

Eventually the excitement wanes

You just want to slow down time

Why the hurry? Just enjoy the present

While  expressing gratitude and reflecting

On memories of yesterday
