Forgiveness

Sorry is not always necessary

Before you forgive

You do it to free your own soul

So your wings can soar

An arduous feat at best

Sometimes the pain Is too intense

The cuts are too deep

To simply dismiss

You try to forget

The sadness and hurt

But, the memories linger on

Lost years, broken dreams

So…you carry this burden

Unwilling to relinquish

Until it diminishes your present

And obscures your future
