Every Day Is A Fresh Start

I am sometimes still astonished that we can learn something new about our self, or the human psyche as time progresses. This ongoing learning process is part of the life experience, regardless of your age. We can experience something that makes us stop and think, and a light goes off in our mind and illuminates something we may have already known, but chose to keep buried in our subconscious. Maybe we chose not to acknowledge it before the present time, because it just made life easier by going along with the status quo.

I had one of these moments several days ago. It was nothing traumatic or life altering that I had buried within my mind. Nevertheless; the experience I went through made me understand myself better, and what I really wanted out of life. I was forced to look at what truly mattered to me. Not what someone else thought I should do, or what that person wanted for me. I thought deeply about the situation and realized; this was the time to do what I wanted. It was time to face all my perceived flaws and capabilities directly in the face.

Because once you do that, and not have people project their ideas of you onto yourself, I think you can fly. The cobwebs disappear and we can now see clearly, and make the best decision for our self. It comes a time when we have to look at our self deeply, honestly, and realize what really makes us happy. And, also what are our true capabilities and limits. We have all heard the saying …..I know you better than you know yourself. I think it’s only you and (God) that knows you that well. There are some people of course that knows us intimately and understand us better than most. But; only you truly understands yourself, your flaws, and your deepest fears. So….face them, square in the face and go ahead and fly.
